Meet our alumni, Ádám Domokos from Romania
Ádám Domokos was a participant of the Audi Development Camp in 2022 and has got many great stories to share about the camp. Ádám is from Romania, currently living in the heart of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár). He is currently a student in his third year of studies looking to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering.
We asked Ádám, why did he apply for the Audi Development Camp.
First of all, the main reason was my great passion for the brand. I was a child who grew up with different Audi models in his family. When I was little my father have been driving an old dark blue Audi 80 from 1982, then a white A4 from 1996 and now a newer A4 from 2011, while the older one became my personal vehicle. I’ve already begun to look at different job descriptions on the Audi Hungária’s website ever since I was in high school, looking to figure out what opportunities are there and what are the requirements to become a professional.
Second of all, I always wanted to visit Győr and expecially Audi’s Factory and the Audi Development Camp was the best opportunity for this.
Ádám is studying at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. He choose this university to deepen his knowledge in all things automotive. His ultimate goal is to leave his mark on this industry.
The goal of the Audi Development Camp project was to create a Battery Management System for the Audi e-tron. Therefore, I he has got the opportunity to test out his Matlab & Simulink skills, learn new and interesting details about electric vehicles and the main technologies that are involved in the research & development process, such as Software-in-the-loop and Hardware-in-the-loop simulation techniques. He has had the chance to improve on a professional and a personal level as well.
Exploring the University and the city, reading, doing research, socializing with the other students and getting to know new people was his favourite free time activity.
The city even though is really small, is filled with interesting places and there were plenty of stuff to do and to visit, said Ádám.
In his opinion, students should always look for ways to take advantage of their opportunities. During the Audi Development Camp they’ve all got the chance to interact with different students from different cultures, visit the Audi Hungaria factory, work on a project and most importantly to find a solution to a real problem the engineers are confronted with, and of course get to know and learn from professionals with real experience in the automotive sector.
We were also curios about Ádám's current job.
In my personal case, shortly after I’ve arrived home from Hungary I’ve started to work at Porsche Engineering Romania at their headquarters in Cluj-Napoca. As an Automotive Design Engineer, I’ve have the opportunity to be directly involved in the development of different mechanical components for upcoming Porsche models.
